Services

Checkout of Materials

Check out of books, DVDs, audio-books (on CD and downloadable), eBooks, and magazines. All items have a two week checkout period, and items overdue more than 14 days are considered lost and must be returned or paid for. Patrons are unable to checkout once an account reaches $5.00 in bills.  To get a library card, a photo ID and proof of address are needed. For more information on digital materials, see our "resources" page.

Interlibrary Loan & Reciprocal Borrowing

Access to library materials held at other libraries within the state, with item pickup available at Dominy Memorial Library, plus the ability to use your card at any library in our system (RAILS).

Curbside Pickup of Materials

Request materials by placing holds online or by calling the library. Then, pull up out front of the library once we have notified you that your hold is ready, and give us a call. Our staff will then run your materials out to your car!

8 Computers with Internet Access, plus Public Wi-Fi Access

Use our desktop computers with printing capability, or bring in your own device to connect to our public Wi-Fi!

The White Community Room

Our community room is available for private functions and includes a kitchenette and space for up to 100 people. We also have a smaller meeting room available for private functions. Call the library for pricing and availability.

Faxing, Scanning, Copying, & Laminating

Faxes cost $1 per page to be sent in state and $2 per page to be sent out of state. Scans are free to email or to place on a thumb drive. Copies and printouts cost $0.20 per page for black & white, and $0.25 per page for color. Laminating costs $0.50/page.

Book Memorials

Honor a loved one by purchasing either an adult or children's book for the library's collection. Each memorial book will include a label indicating the donor and person of honor. To purchase a memorial book, see library staff. The cost is $30 for an adult book or $25 for a children's book.

Test Proctoring

Distance learning students can complete online tests under the supervision of library staff. The cost is $10 for Dominy patrons and $20 for non-Dominy patrons per test.

Outreach & Delivery to Local Community Organizations

If you are a business or community organization interested in partnering with the library or an individual wishing to receive services, please contact us! We would love to bring the library to you!

Book Donations

We accept book and DVD donations for use in our library collection or to be donated to the Friends of the Library for their book sales. We cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, or books in poor condition. Please bring your donations up to the front counter during hours the library is open; we ask that you do not leave donations outside or in our book drop.

A history and genealogy section along with archives of the local newspaper (The Blade) and cemetery records accessible via the library’s webpage 

Newspaper Subscriptions

Subscriptions to The Pontiac Daily Leader (Tuesday-Friday) and The Chenoa Town Crier (weekly)

Alumni Records

The library keeps all of the class records for alumni of Fairbury-Cropsey and Prairie Central High Schools. Class officers may request a class list for alumni banquets and are responsible for making changes & keeping the lists current.
